Bilinguals tend to be bicultural and who, in addition, can identify with the cultures of their languages, an aspect that may or may not be a feature of their bicultural profile (Grosjean, 2015). However, these two aspects of the cultural dimension are not the reality of all bilinguals and we do not know which aspects determine that they are.

Some of the aspects that will be mentioned are studied specifically or manipulated directly by psycholinguists whilst others simply accompany bilingual participants into the research environment. We need to understand these phenomena so as to be able to make sense of the data that are obtained.

The concept of bilingualism, in addition to being a term that is not very unambiguous, has presented great dynamism over time. As a result, it is difficult to establish as a result, it is difficult to establish a single exact definition, since several authors from different disciplines have attempted to different disciplines have attempted to define this concept over the years.
